Nintendo Direct September 2025 – Key Announcements & Game Details

Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 are being re-released for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 on October 2, 2025. Improvements include enhanced user interface, new storybook content, improved resolution, support for motion controls and button/stick controls.
To celebrate the anniversary, Nintendo also revealed The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, an animated film launching April 3, 2026.
Two new large-size amiibo figures will come out alongside. Mario & Luma amiibo gives a Life Mushroom; Rosalina & Lumas gives a 1-Up Mushroom in the bundle.

“Virtual Boy – Nintendo Classics” joins Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack with authentic stereoscopic 3D support on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
Requires a dedicated Virtual Boy accessory (two options): a replica headset and a cardboard model. You slot your Switch/Switch 2 into the unit to play in 3D with Joy-Con/Joy-Con 2.
Launch: 17 February 2026.
14 games, including; Mario’s Tennis, Galactic Pinball, Teleroboxer.

Release: 4 December 2025 on Switch 2 and Switch (same day).
Samus explores planet Viewros using scanning, gear upgrades, new psychic abilities, and her Vi-O-La bike for traversal and combat.
Amiibo: Samus, Samus & Vi-O-La (6 Nov 2025), and Sylux (4 Dec 2025).

Pokémon Pokopia (Switch 2): 2026. Survival-crafting life sim where you play as a Ditto in human form; gather, build, farm, and create a Pokémon paradise. Digital pre-orders from 12 Nov 2025.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A (Switch 2 & Switch): 16 October 2025 with new Mega Evolutions (e.g., Chesnaught, Delphox, Greninja) on Switch 2.
DLC: Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Mega Dimension continues the Lumiose City story with Hyperspace Lumiose and new forms (incl. Mega Raichu X/Y).

Mario Tennis Fever: A new entry in the Mario Tennis sports series, coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in February 2026.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition with new content: new multiplayer-focused additions, new DLC titled “Meet up in Bellabel Park” slated for Spring 2026.
Yoshi and the Mysterious Book: New storybook adventure starring Yoshi and Mr. E, a talking book of unusual creatures. release planned for Spring 2026.
Donkey Kong Bananza — “DK Island & Emerald Rush” DLC (Switch 2)
- Availability: “Same Day” (Direct day).
- Explore DK Island with Donkey Kong & Pauline; roguelite-style Emerald Rush runs, collectible Perks, fashion unlocks, statues, and a free demo of the base game.
Kirby Air Riders — amiibo
- Figures: Kirby & Warp Star and Bandana Waddle Dee & Winged Star.
- Date: 20 November 2025; summon Figure Players in-game and train them.

A new Fire Emblem title, tactical RPG style, to be released on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026. Revealed story, characters, and trailer in the Direct.

Gameplay: Pair up for Sync Strikes, deploy Zonai devices, split-screen co-op, and GameShare support.

Switch 2 Edition: Digital first on console, 120fps in TV mode and cross-save with PC/Switch.
